Meanings according to Rider-Waite:
ASTROLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The Moon on the Ascendant as a sign of high adaptability and good adjustability, as well as Moon/Mars, capriciousness.
TWO OF DISKS The Two of Disks is the card of the gambler, but also the card of the person to whom it is a matter of indifference which decision to make. It shows that we know how to adapt to the vicissitudes of life, and that we bear its ups and downs without unnecessary anxiety. Depending on what question or what area of life this card is connected with, it can signify dexterity, sociability, cheerfulness, spontaneity and originality, or else the lack of one's own point of view, conformism, capriciousness and the habit of sycophancy or fawning. Thus, it encompasses a broad spectrum of qualities ranging from utter weakness of will to the wisdom of the royal Fool.

TWO OF PENTACLES Change The first decan of Capricorn, from December 22nd to 31st. Astrological equivalents: Libra, Gemini, Mercury. The sign of Capricorn symbolizes engagement in meaningful, purposeful, creative activity aimed at the transformation of the world. The first decan of Capricorn expresses the idea of the beginning of action as such: the manipulation of things — the comprehension of the organization of matter and the means of operating with it. Drawing upon the principle of freedom of action, this decan looks somewhat condescendingly upon the material world, feeling itself master within it. However, a sense of deep responsibility lends it restraint and self-discipline, while a rigorous definition of goals regulates its behavior. The patron of this decan — Jupiter — grants it certain administrative inclinations. The representatives of this decan are capable of building on empty ground or beginning everything anew, learning concrete practical matters well. Rising above the earthly, and at times setting themselves unattainable goals, they conceive of their activity as endless: moreover, in many respects they are drawn to the very process of action itself, which affords the opportunity to master unfamiliar spheres and to find within the alien, material world something exalted and their own. On the TAROT card, a man is depicted skillfully manipulating two Disks within a horizontal FIGURE-EIGHT — the sign of infinity. His garments are made of leather, which emphasizes his materiality. In the background, ships are tossed about upon high waves: they have set sail in a storm, and their captains require mastery and skill in order to govern them. But he who is aware of the ultimate goal does not fear the vicissitudes and changes of the present. That which on the level of the ACE OF PENTACLES was united, the TWO disjoins. The TWO OF PENTACLES is a very bustling card. It usually indicates the necessity of running about, of some sort of feverish activity, most likely in the name of monetary interests. The trap — If your character is described by the card "THE FOOL," you may turn out to be spineless. UPRIGHT POSITION In the upright position, the TWO OF PENTACLES reproduces the theme of Mercury, and therefore is connected with journeys and letters, which, most likely, are financial in nature. The card symbolizes harmonious changes that bring profit. The card may also signify the ability to recognize the great temporal cycles in good time and to act in accordance with them. This is a character that plays with change, extracting practical benefit from it. This requires good abilities as a combiner and coordinator. Such a person does not tolerate restrictions. Contracts, their conclusion, documentation; a sum of money (most often small) — all of this may pass through the Two of PENTACLES. At the same time, the TWO OF PENTACLES may signify a surge of strength, energy, the capacity to perform a given work well. However, the TWO OF PENTACLES may simultaneously also impede the development of new projects, since the bustle often distracts all the attention. Under the TWO may also be understood various kinds of obstacles — though not very significant ones, yet vexing nonetheless.
REVERSED POSITION In the reversed position, the TWO OF PENTACLES is weakness, lethargy, the absence of energy, the situation in which work stands still while the person lies sprawled upon the couch, unable to undertake it. Fear in the face of impending work. On the lowest level, the reversed TWO OF PENTACLES may give an unwillingness to work.
